Where your words go

Wispr says transcription always happens in the cloud, and audio is deleted after it's transcribed unless you turn on cloud storage. A separate switch decides whether your data can improve its models; on Growth an admin controls it, and on Enterprise it's locked off.

Willow's home page says it's SOC 2 Type II certified and HIPAA compliant, with zero data retention, but its pricing page lists enforced zero retention and HIPAA on Business. Its offline mode, which it says runs entirely on your device, is the one way to keep dictation off its servers, and that's a Pro feature.

If neither fits

On a Mac, Koi is offline on every plan: tap Fn + ⌥ and Whisper types on your Mac while you speak, unlimited. It records calls on the Mac too. It has no free plan ($20 a month after a 3-day trial that needs a card, or Lifetime from $59), no Windows or phone app, 57 languages and no snippets.
