How to record an online call

Tap Fn + ⌃, pick Online call, and Koi writes down You and Them apart, on your Mac, with no bot joining the call.

By Irakli, founder ·

How to do it

  1. Tap Fn + ⌃, or click Record on the dock.
  2. Pick Online call, then Audio only or Audio and video.
  3. Talk as usual. The dock's Record button shows red sound bars while it records.
  4. Tap Fn + ⌃ again, or the dock's stop button, to finish. The document opens.
  5. Say yes to "Summarize this call?" for a title, a summary, your to-dos and a follow-up email.

Worth knowing

  • The other side needs Screen Recording: System Settings, Privacy & Security, Screen & System Audio Recording (Screen Recording on macOS 14).
  • When Zoom, Meet or Teams starts using your mic, the dock asks "Record this call?". Settings, Koi can make it start by itself.
  • Live captions in your language (macOS 26 and later) show what the others say, translated on your Mac.
  • Tell people you're recording. In many places that's the law, and Koi doesn't announce itself.
