How to teach Koi your words, snippets and styles

Settings, Dictation holds your words (names spelled your way), snippets (a phrase that types saved text) and a style for each app.

By Irakli, founder ·

How to do it

  1. Open Koi's Settings and pick Dictation.
  2. Under Your words, add a name, a brand or a term exactly as it should be typed. Up to 300.
  3. Under Snippets, add a phrase and its text, like "my address" and your address. Say the phrase while dictating and the text is typed instead.
  4. Under the app styles, add any open app and pick Casual (no full stop at the end) or Formal.

Worth knowing

  • Fix a word right after Koi types it and Koi adds it to Your words by itself.
  • On a call, "add Irakli to my dictionary" does the same.
  • Names on your screen are read on the Mac as you start, so they come out spelled right. Never sent, never kept.
