What the colours on a call mean

A call with Koi has one colour at a time, on the light round your screen and on Koi in the notch: amber while it connects, purple while it's live.

By Irakli, founder ·

How to do it

  1. Tap Fn + ⌘. The light round the edge of your screen and Koi in the notch turn amber while the call connects. Wait for purple before you talk.
  2. Purple means Koi can hear you. The light swells while you talk, and moves with Koi's voice while it answers. Thinking keeps it purple.
  3. Tap Fn + ⌘ again, or stop talking. The light drains back up into the notch in a soft pale glow, and Koi fades back to white.

Worth knowing

  • The light runs round the screen your pointer is on, the one Koi sees, and follows you to another screen.
  • Koi in the notch turns red when your plan's Koi has run out. Get more Koi shows in the notch then.
  • Koi's sounds mark pressing the keys, letting go and the answer starting. Settings, General, Koi's sounds turns them off.
