How to dictate in any app
Tap the dictation keys, talk, and Koi types where your cursor is, in any Mac app. Voice commands, offline use, languages and how to stop, step by step.

How to do it
- Start dragging a file, from Finder or the desktop.
- While you're still holding it, press and hold Shift. The wheel opens round the pointer.
- Move onto a wedge and let go: Explain, Translate, Read aloud, Add expense or Add to calendar. The middle says which one you're on.

Worth knowing
- Explain: Koi opens a call and tells you what the file is and what you need to do, then answers your questions about it. The explanation is kept as a page too.
- Translate: a page of Koi's own in your language, made a page of the file at a time. It doesn't keep the file's layout.
- Read aloud: your Mac's own voices read it, and the card beside the dock stops it.
- Add expense: a receipt, an invoice or a bill goes into the expense tracker, in its one currency.
- Add to calendar: a booking, a ticket or a letter's dates are offered beside the dock, to add with a click.
- PDFs, Word files, slides, text and pictures all work. Pictures and scanned pages are read on your Mac first.
- On a call, name the file instead: "explain the letter from the tax office", "add this receipt to my expenses".
- Only the file's words go to Koi's AI, never the file itself. Read aloud sends nothing.
- Settings, Koi, Shift wheel for files turns it off.
