How to dictate in any app
Tap the dictation keys, talk, and Koi types where your cursor is, in any Mac app. Voice commands, offline use, languages and how to stop, step by step.

How to do it
- Open Koi's Settings and go to Connections. AI apps is under your calendars.
- Click Connect next to Claude, Cursor or Codex. For Claude Code, click Copy command and paste it in your terminal once.
- Quit and reopen that app, or start a new session in it.
- Ask it about your Koi: "what did Sam say about pricing?", "add the dentist on Thursday at 3", "add Netflix to my expenses".

Worth knowing
- It can search and read your documents, calls and dictations; make, edit, move, archive and export pages; and keep your calendar, expenses, flashcards, memory, snippets and dictionary up to date.
- It can start dictation, a recording or a call with Koi, as the keys would.
- Koi answers on your Mac and sends nothing to our server. What the AI app reads goes to its own AI under its own terms.
- If Koi isn't running when the app asks, it opens in the background.
- A deleted page waits in Recently Deleted for 30 days. Your Google and Apple calendars change only with Let Koi use my Mac for me on.
- Other apps that run MCP servers on your Mac can start Koi's app with its --mcp option.
- To disconnect, remove koi from that app's MCP settings.
