How to download a video from a link

Hover the notch, open Tools and click Downloader. Paste the video's link, press Return, pick what you want, and it's saved to your Downloads.

By Irakli, founder ·

How to do it

  1. Copy the video's link from YouTube, TikTok, X, Instagram, Vimeo or almost any other site.
  2. Hover the notch, open Tools and click Downloader. The link field is ready: press ⌘V, then Return.
  3. Koi reads the link and shows the video. Pick the video, the video with no sound, or the sound only (M4A), and a size from 4K down.
  4. Click Download. It's saved to Downloads and put in the notch's Tray; click Show in Finder or Open.

Worth knowing

  • You can also drop a link straight on the notch, or ask Koi on a call: “download this video”.
  • With the notch folded, a finished download slides out of it with a frame of the video, its name and Show in Finder.
  • Your Mac fetches the video straight from the site, never through Koi's server.
  • A site that refuses downloads, like a private video or a paid stream, says so. Only download what you have the right to.
