HeyClicky review: what it does, what it costs, and how it compares
HeyClicky review: what the Mac AI buddy (formerly Clicky) does, what it costs, what its trust page says it keeps, and how it compares with Koi. Oct 2026.
The idea
You open Claude or Cursor to get something done, and the first five minutes go on context. Paste the call notes. Paste the to-do list. Explain what you agreed with Sam. Then copy the answer back into wherever it lives.
Koi already has all of that: your pages, your dictations, your recorded calls with their transcripts, your calendar and your expenses. So we let your AI apps ask Koi directly, through MCP, the open standard they use to plug into other tools.
What you can ask
Once an app is connected, it can do most of what you do in Koi by hand. A few things you can now just type into it:
| You ask your AI app | What Koi does |
|---|---|
| What did Sam say about pricing on Tuesday's call? | Searches your calls, pages and dictations and hands over the parts that match |
| Turn that call into a one-page brief | Makes a new page in Koi with it, in the folder you name |
| Put the dentist on Thursday at 3 | Adds it to Koi's calendar, or your Google or Apple calendar if you say so |
| Add Netflix, $17.99 a month, to my expenses | Puts it in the expense tracker with its next payment |
| Make flashcards from my biology notes | Adds the cards to that page, ready to study |
| Transcribe ~/Downloads/lecture.m4a | Writes it down on your Mac, with timestamps, as a new document |
| Start recording this meeting | Starts a recording, the same as pressing the keys |
It also edits pages, files them into folders, exports them as Markdown or Word, imports PDFs and slides, and keeps Koi's memory, dictation snippets and dictionary up to date. Thirty tools in all.
How to set it up
Koi writes itself into that app's own MCP settings and leaves everything else in them alone. If Koi isn't running when the app asks, it opens in the background to answer.
Where your data goes
The AI app starts Koi on your Mac, and Koi answers it there, over a private line that only Koi's own app can use. Nothing goes through our server. What the app reads, it sends to its own AI under its own terms, so connect only the ones you'd trust with your notes.
