The best MeetGeek alternatives in 2026

MeetGeek limits transcription hours and keeps video for Business. The best MeetGeek alternatives: Koi to record unlimited calls with video on your Mac, no bot, tl;dv or Fathom for bigger free plans, Bluedot for no bot on every device, and Avoma for sales coaching.

What is the best MeetGeek alternative?

If you're tired of hour limits and recordings that expire, Koi records calls on your Mac with no bot, keeps the audio or a video of the screen there, and has no monthly hours to count. If you want another cloud notetaker for a team, tl;dv and Fathom have bigger free plans, Bluedot records with no bot on every device, and Avoma goes further into sales coaching than MeetGeek does.

We make Koi, so read this with that in mind. MeetGeek does a lot Koi doesn't: CRM fields filled in, team spaces, analytics and a phone app. Koi is a Mac app for one person. Everything about the other apps comes from their own sites, checked October 21, 2026. We didn't run tests.

How MeetGeek works

MeetGeek gives you both kinds of recording. Its Meeting Agent is a bot that joins Zoom, Google Meet and Teams. Its desktop app for Mac and Windows records with no bot, quietly in the background, and works with Zoom, Teams, Meet, Slack and WhatsApp calls. There's also a browser extension, and phone apps for meetings in person. Whichever device records, the meeting syncs to your MeetGeek workspace.

It transcribes in 100+ languages with automatic detection and records HD video on Business. You can choose EU or US data hosting. MeetGeek lists SOC 2 Type II, AES-256 encryption and no AI training on your meetings. For sales teams, it fills HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Zoho CRM and Attio with notes, MEDDIC fields and call logs, and teams get shared spaces, comments, clips and analytics.

Why people look for a MeetGeek alternative

The limits are in the plans. From MeetGeek's pricing page:

  • Basic, the free plan, gives 3 hours of transcription a month, keeps transcripts for 3 months and audio for 1 month, and caps a meeting at 2 hours.
  • Pro, $15.99 a month or $9.99 billed yearly, gives 20 hours a month, then charges $0.50 an hour. Transcripts are kept a year and audio 6 months.
  • Video is only on Business, $27 a month or $17 billed yearly, kept for 12 months, with meetings up to 3 hours.
  • Everything is stored in MeetGeek's cloud, so your history depends on your plan.

For a sales team that wants CRM fields filled in automatically, those limits can be worth it. For one person who just wants every call recorded and kept, they add up fast.

6 MeetGeek alternatives compared

1. Koi

Best for: Unlimited recording with video, kept on your Mac

Tap Fn + ⌃ on any call and pick Online call, then Audio only or Audio and video. Koi hears your microphone as You and what the Mac plays as Them, and writes each stretch of talk down on your Mac as it pauses. Audio and video films the screen with both sides' sound. No bot joins, nothing is uploaded, and the recording and transcript stay on your Mac until you delete them. There are no transcription hours, and no video tier.

Koi offers to record when Zoom, Teams, FaceTime, Webex, Slack, Discord or a Meet call in your browser starts using the microphone, or starts by itself if you turn that on. When it ends, say yes to “Summarize this call?” and you get a title, a short summary, your own to-dos and a follow-up email, with extra headings on a sales call, like what the customer needs and what held them back. Only the transcript's words go to Koi's AI.

Pro is $20 a month or $192 a year after a 3-day trial with a card, and Lifetime is paid once: $59 for the first 25 buyers, rising to $199. Weakness: no CRM, no team spaces or analytics, no speaker names beyond You and Them, and Mac only (macOS 14 or later).

2. tl;dv

Best for: A free plan with unlimited recordings

tl;dv records Meet, Zoom and Teams with a bot, or bot-free from its Mac and Windows app. Free lists unlimited recordings and transcriptions in 30+ languages, with full AI notes on your first 10 meetings. Data is hosted in the EU, and it logs notes to HubSpot and Salesforce. Pro is €29 a seat a month, or €18 billed yearly.

Weakness: Free recordings are kept 3 months, and bot-free recording is audio only.

3. Fathom

Best for: Unlimited free recordings, CRM sync on Business

Fathom's Free plan lists unlimited recordings and transcriptions with instant summaries. Its bot joins by default, or you record bot-free on a Mac, in beta. Premium is $20 a month, or $16 yearly; Business, with CRM field sync, is $34 a user a month or $25 yearly.

Weakness: bot-free capture is still a beta.

4. Bluedot

Best for: No bot on any device

Bluedot never sends a bot and records from a Chrome extension, Mac and Windows apps and phone apps, in 100+ languages. Basic is $14 a user a month billed yearly, audio only; Pro is $20, with video and no length limit; CRM sync is on Business, $32.

Weakness: Free is 5 meetings for life.

5. Avoma

Best for: Sales teams that want coaching and forecasting

Avoma is MeetGeek's heavier cousin: AI notes plus scheduling, call scoring and deal tracking as add-ons, in 70+ languages, with Salesforce, HubSpot, Zoho, Pipedrive and Copper. Startup is $19 a recorder seat a month billed yearly, or $29 monthly, and viewers are free.

Weakness: a bot by default. Its bot-free route on Zoom uses Zoom's cloud recording, which needs a paid Zoom account.

6. Jamie

Best for: No bot, data kept in Europe

Jamie records your device's audio with no bot, on Mac, Windows and phones, in 99+ languages, streams it for transcription without storing it, and keeps data in the EEA, Switzerland and the UK. Pro, €39 a month billed yearly, adds Salesforce, HubSpot, Attio and Pipedrive.

Weakness: no recording to replay.

How to record a meeting without a bot

With MeetGeek's desktop app:

  1. Install MeetGeek for Mac or Windows and sign in.
  2. Start recording yourself, or set calendar-based rules so it starts on its own.
  3. Join the call. Nothing joins the participant list.
  4. The meeting syncs to your MeetGeek workspace, where it's transcribed and summarized.

With Koi:

  1. Tap Fn + ⌃, or click Record when Koi's dock asks "Record this call?"
  2. Pick Online call, then Audio only or Audio and video. For a room, pick In person.
  3. The first time, allow Screen Recording for Koi in System Settings and reopen it.
  4. Stop from the dock or tap Fn + ⌃ again. The page opens in Recents.
  5. Say yes to Summarize this call? for notes, to-dos and a follow-up email.

When MeetGeek is still the better pick

Stay on MeetGeek if

  • Your CRM should fill itself in after sales calls, MEDDIC fields included. Koi has no CRM integrations.
  • Your team shares meetings, comments on them, and builds clips and playlists. Koi keeps each call on one Mac.
  • You want team analytics across everyone's meetings.
  • You record on Windows or your phone too. Koi is Mac only.
  • You need your data hosted in a region you choose, or on-premise on Enterprise.
  • You want every speaker named, not You and Them.

Koi is the better pick for one person on a Mac who records a lot of calls and wants to keep them: no hours to ration, no video tier, and the files on your own Mac. It also does a lot outside meetings, like unlimited dictation in any app and an assistant that can see your screen.

What does a year of calls cost?

Say you record 10 hours of calls a week, about 40 hours a month. On MeetGeek Pro billed yearly, that's $9.99 a month for the first 20 hours, plus 20 extra hours at $0.50, so about $20 a month, without video. With video it's Business, $17 a month billed yearly, with unlimited transcription.

Koi Pro is $20 a month, or $192 a year, for any number of recorded calls, with video. Lifetime is paid once, from $59, and recorded calls stay unlimited. That's for one person on one Mac, though. For a team of ten who share calls, MeetGeek's per-seat plans do things Koi can't. See Koi's plans for details.

Which MeetGeek alternative should you pick?

  • Unlimited recording with video, kept on your Mac? Koi.
  • A free plan with unlimited recordings? tl;dv or Fathom.
  • No bot on every device? Bluedot.
  • Sales coaching, scoring and forecasting? Avoma.
  • Data kept in Europe, no audio stored? Jamie.

Whichever you pick, ask before you record. Our guides to recording a Teams meeting and any meeting on a Mac cover the setup, and the best AI note takers for Mac has more options.
