Koi's calendar for Mac: week or month, reminders in the dock, things added by voice, and Google Calendar from many accounts beside Apple Calendar and Reminders.
Notion Calendar, which was Cron until January 2024, is free, so stay unless something's missing. For Apple Reminders and changes by voice on a Mac, try Koi; for every Apple device, Fantastical; for speed and shortcuts, Vimcal; to pay once, BusyCal.

If you're looking for a Cron alternative, you're in the right place. Notion bought Cron in 2022, and in January 2024 Cron became Notion Calendar. The app updated to the new name by itself, so Cron users already have it.
Notion Calendar is free. It runs on Mac and Windows, with apps for iPhone and Android; Notion says the iPad version isn't optimized yet. It connects Google Calendar, Outlook and iCloud calendars, several at once, so work and personal sit together and busy times can block each other. You can share a scheduling link, see your day across time zones, join meetings from the menu bar, and, if you use Notion, drag database items like deadlines around beside your events.
That's a lot for nothing, so most people should stay. We make Koi, so read this with that in mind. Every fact about another app comes from its own site, docs or App Store page, checked October 21, 2026. We didn't run tests.

The list
Best for: Many Google accounts with Apple Calendar and Reminders, and changes by voice
Koi is a Mac app with its own calendar, one click from its dock. Like Notion Calendar, it takes as many Google accounts as you have, each with its own sign-in, and shows a meeting that's on two of them once. Unlike it, it connects Apple Calendar and Apple Reminders through macOS, so every reminder with a date shows as a task you can tick off in Koi.
Tap Fn + ⌘ and say “remind me to call mum at six” or “move my dentist to Thursday”, and Koi does it. Ask “what's on today?” and it answers from all of them. That's a call with Koi's AI, so it's online, and changing your Google or Apple calendars by voice needs “Let Koi use my Mac for me” on. Invite guests and the event goes on Google with a Meet link, and Google emails the invitations.
Where it loses: no scheduling links, no Outlook connection of its own, no Windows or phone, and it costs money. It comes with Koi, at $20 a month or $192 a year after a 3-day trial, or Lifetime from $59 once.
Best for: Nothing to install
Free and built in. Choose Calendar, Add Account, and add iCloud, Google or any CalDAV account; the same accounts on your iPhone keep it all in step. No scheduling links. Google says email notifications for events, creating new Google calendars and Room Scheduler don't work there (Google's help).
Best for: One polished calendar on every Apple device
Fantastical works with Google, Microsoft 365, Exchange, iCloud, Todoist and CalDAV, on Mac, iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Vision Pro and Windows. You type events in plain language, and Premium adds Openings for booking links and Proposals. There's a free version; the Mac App Store lists Premium at $6.99 and $56.99. See our Fantastical alternatives.
Best for: The closest feel to Cron: fast, with shortcuts for everything
Vimcal syncs Google Calendar and Outlook, with a Mac and PC desktop app, a Mac menu bar app and a web version. Free is its iOS app only; iOS and Desktop is $35 a month, or $25 a month billed yearly. It doesn't mention iCloud.
Best for: Calendars and tasks from many apps, planned together
Morgen connects Google, Outlook, iCloud and CalDAV, brings in tasks from Notion, Todoist, Linear and more, and plans your day with an AI Planner. It has booking links. $30 a month, or $15 a month billed yearly, after a 14-day trial with no card. See our Morgen alternatives.
Best for: A Mac calendar you pay for once
BusyCal is $49.99 from BusyMac, a license that never expires with 18 months of updates, or part of Setapp. Menu bar calendar, plain-language entry, weather, travel time and to-dos synced with Reminders, on Mac and iPhone. More in our BusyCal alternatives.

How to
A Google event that's also in the Mac's Calendar, because you added the same Google account there, shows once. Calendar and Reminders keep alerting as usual and Koi's dock doesn't, so nothing alerts twice. More on Koi's calendar.
Head to head
Privacy
In Koi, Google Calendar goes only between your Mac and Google, never through our server, and each Google sign-in is kept in your Mac's Keychain. Apple Calendar and Reminders are read on your Mac through macOS. Events from both are held in memory while Koi runs and aren't written to Koi's database. Koi's own calendar stays on your Mac.
Our server sees your events only when you ask Koi about them on a call: a question about your day sends that day's events along with it, and they're kept nowhere.
