How to see and search your copy history

Hover the notch, open Tools and click Copy history. Everything you copied is there by day, newest first, kept 6 months on your Mac only.

By Irakli, founder ·

How to do it

  1. Copy something. The first time, the notch asks “Keep what you copy?”: click Keep them. Not now turns Copy history off.
  2. Later, hover the notch, open Tools and click Copy history.
  3. Find it in the list, grouped as Pinned, Today, Yesterday and dates, or type in the search to look through the words, links, file paths and app names.
  4. Pick one to see it whole on the right, with the app it came from and when. Click Copy, double-click it, or press Return.

Worth knowing

  • Pin what you use often; pinned ones stay at the top and are never cleared after 6 months.
  • Shift-click picks a run and ⌘-click one more, to delete them together. Clear all (asked first) keeps the pinned ones.
  • It keeps words, links, pictures and the paths of files you copy in Finder, never the files themselves. The same thing copied again moves up rather than twice.
  • It never keeps passwords, what a password manager copies, or what apps mark as private or only passing through.
  • Everything stays on your Mac: never sent anywhere and never read by Koi's AI.
  • Turn it off on the page itself, or in Settings, Notch & tools, Copy history, which also clears it.
