How to record a meeting on a Mac, in any app
How to record a meeting on a Mac in Zoom, Meet, Teams, Webex, FaceTime or in the room: who can press Record, where files go, and what to ask before you start.
Slack doesn't document a way to record a huddle's sound or video, but it can take AI notes: click AI notes: Off at the top left of the huddle, then Start AI notes & transcription, on a Pro, Business+ or Enterprise+ plan. For the recording itself, use the Screenshot toolbar with Include System Audio on macOS 27, or an app like Audio Hijack, and ask everyone first.

The short answer
Not with Slack's own tools: its help pages describe no way to save a huddle's sound or video. What Slack offers instead is AI notes: click “AI notes: Off” at the top left of the huddle, then Start AI notes & transcription, and Slack writes the key points, action items and a transcript into a canvas, telling everyone in the huddle.
For the sound or the video itself, you record your Mac instead:
Some of the guides people find still say you need QuickTime plus a separate audio driver. On macOS 27 you may not. The details below come from Slack's, Apple's and the apps' own pages, checked October 16, 2026. We make Koi, a Mac app that records calls, and say below where it fits.
| Slack AI notes | Screenshot toolbar | Audio Hijack | |
|---|---|---|---|
| You get | Notes, action items and a transcript | A screen video | Audio files, optional transcript |
| Plan | Pro, Business+ or Enterprise+ | Built into macOS | $69 |
| Huddles with guests | No | Yes | Yes |
| Tells the huddle | Yes, everyone is notified | No | No |
Slack's own way
From Slack's huddle notes article, on the desktop app:
The notes land in a canvas in the huddle's thread: the key takeaways, the action items, who was there and the topics. The transcript is inside that canvas, though it won't show up in Slack search. Anyone in the channel or DM where the huddle happened can see the notes.
Two limits to know. Slack's guide to its AI features lists huddle notes on the Pro, Business+ and Enterprise+ plans. And AI notes can't be used in huddles with external people or guests.
Huddles also have live captions, but Slack's huddles page says they're English only and not saved once the huddle ends. Each huddle has a canvas for notes you type yourself, which stays in the conversation afterwards.
Your Mac's own tools
The .mov is saved to your desktop. Per Apple's how-to, Include System Audio needs macOS 27 or later. On Tahoe 26 and earlier, a microphone is the only sound option, so the others are faint, or missing if you wear headphones. That's where the old advice about drivers comes from: see how to record internal audio on a Mac for BlackHole and the rest. Test before a huddle that matters.
Apps
From each app's own pages:
Where Koi fits
Koi's Record calls records your microphone as You and what the Mac plays as Them, transcribes both on your Mac, films the screen if you pick Audio and video, and with your yes writes a summary and your to-dos. It's made for online calls in apps like Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams, with no bot joining.
Koi's Online call records whatever app the Mac plays, a Slack huddle included, and the dock offers to record when a huddle starts. For the other call apps, see every way to record a meeting on a Mac.
Consent first
Only with the people in it agreeing. In many places recording a call needs everyone's consent, and your company's Slack rules may say more. This isn't legal advice.
Slack's AI notes tell everyone when they start. The Screenshot toolbar and recording apps don't. So say it in the huddle or the thread before you start, wait for a yes, and don't record if anyone says no. Keep the file to the people who agreed.
