Ask Koi how something works, and it draws it

Ask Koi how something works and it builds a picture while it talks: a sketch on grid paper, or a 3D model you can turn, with steps you can click. Save it as a PNG or a .koi file.

Some things don't fit in a sentence

Ask anyone how a jet engine works and watch their hands. They draw it in the air. A fan here, the fire in the middle, air shooting out the back. Words alone are a bad way to explain a thing with parts.

Koi could already point at your screen and circle a button. Now, when you ask how something works, it draws the answer too, right beside what you asked about, while it talks.

A sketch, or a model you can turn

  • A card: cream grid paper, written in Koi's hand. Koi's pointer draws each box, arrow and word as it explains, like someone at a whiteboard.
  • A 3D scene: the thing itself on a dark stage, built part by part. Labels line up beside it, arrows show the airflow, parts slide into place, and the steps sit in a caption strip underneath.

Drag the model to turn it, scroll to zoom, and click a step to fly to the parts it's about. Ask a follow-up and Koi adds to the same picture instead of starting over. Ask for something new and the old one folds into a little pill in the corner, one click from coming back.

Your own file type

The window has a download button. Save a PNG to drop in a doc, or save the card or scene as a .koi file. Double-click it next week and it opens in Koi, still turning. That one costs nothing: it's rebuilt on your Mac, no AI involved.

Ask something with parts

  1. Start a call with Koi.
  2. Ask “how does a car engine work?”, “explain photosynthesis”, or “show me how this tripod mount attaches, in 3D”.
  3. Watch it build. Interrupt whenever you like.

It's great for studying: on a study question Koi takes it step by step through the picture instead of reading you a paragraph. Each picture counts against your plan's Koi, like the call. The full how-to is here, and if you have a manual rather than a question, drop it on the notch.

How to see how something works in 3D on your Mac

Ask Koi out loud how something works and it builds a 3D model or a sketch beside it while it explains. Turn it, click its steps, and save it to your Desktop.

Drop a manual on your notch, get a 3D model

Koi's notch has a Visualize spot: drop a PDF manual on it and Koi builds the thing in 3D, the manual's steps as captions you can click. No call needed.

An AI that can see your screen, on your Mac

Koi for Mac is an AI that sees your screen. Tap two keys and ask out loud: it points, draws, rewrites text and clicks, but never pays, sends or deletes.
