YNAB alternatives for your Mac
YNAB alternatives for Mac: Koi, Actual Budget, Copilot Money, Banktivity, Monarch and MoneyMoney, with prices, bank sync and who should stay on YNAB.
If you know what you pay for, you don't need to link your bank: Koi keeps your subscriptions, bills and income on your Mac, Bobby is a cheap list on iPhone, and the App Store shows Apple subscriptions free. Monarch and Copilot Money find subscriptions in your bank accounts like Rocket Money does.

Rocket Money links your checking, savings, card and investment accounts, finds the subscriptions and bills in them, and can cancel some for you. It says it has over 10 million members. Its own pricing article sets out three plans:
On Free and Premium, bill negotiation takes a success fee of 35% to 60% of the first year's savings. Rocket Money says its prices are subject to change.
We make Koi, one of the apps below, so read this with that in mind. Every fact about another app comes from its own site or App Store page, checked October 21, 2026. We didn't run tests.

The picks
Best for: A subscription and bill list on your Mac, with no bank access
Koi's expense tracker is a list of what you pay again and again. Click Tools on the dock, pick Expense tracker, click Add and start typing: services show with their apps' icons, and everyday bills like rent, utilities, internet, phone, a loan or insurance have icons of their own. Anything else, type its name. Then the price and Weekly, Monthly or Yearly, and if you like the day it's paid on, so the next payment shows on its row.
Koi adds it all up: what you spend a month and a year, biggest first, and with your income added, what's left. Tap Fn + ⌘ and say “add Netflix to my tracker” from any app, and Koi adds it; that sends the words to Koi's AI. The list itself is kept on your Mac and never sent anywhere.
Pro is $20 a month, or $192 a year, after a 3-day free trial that needs a card. Lifetime is paid once, from $59. The tracker comes with the rest of Koi: dictation in any app, recorded calls and an AI that sees your screen.
Weakness: it finds nothing by itself. Koi doesn't read your bank, the App Store or your email, has no alerts before a renewal, can't cancel anything, uses one currency for all with nothing converted, and is Mac only.
Best for: App Store subscriptions, free
Anything you pay for through Apple shows in the App Store, and you can cancel it there. It's free and already on your Mac. Apple's steps:
Weakness: only what you bought through Apple. Netflix paid by card, your gym and your phone bill aren't there.
Best for: A simple subscription list on iPhone, for a couple of dollars
Bobby lets you pick from hundreds of preset subscriptions or make your own, shows your total and upcoming bills, and sends a notification before one is due. You add them yourself; there's no bank link. It's free on the App Store, with in-app purchases from $0.99, and the All-in-one Pack at $1.99 or $2.99.
Weakness: it's an iPhone app. It runs on an Apple silicon Mac, but its listing says it's designed for iPhone and not verified for macOS.
Best for: Bill reminders on Mac, iPhone and iPad, if you use Setapp
Chronicle tracks bills and subscriptions with reminders before they're due, and syncs between Mac, iPhone and iPad through iCloud. On Setapp it needs macOS 12 or later, and Setapp starts at $14.99 a month with 7 days free, which includes many other apps.
Weakness: Setapp is a lot to pay for one bill tracker if you don't use its other apps.
Best for: Subscriptions inside a full money app, with a partner
Monarch's Recurring page finds repeating charges in your synced accounts, and you can add your own. It's $14.99 a month or $99.99 a year after a 7-day trial, on the web, iPhone and Android, with 13,000+ institutions. More in our Monarch alternatives page.
Weakness: no free plan, no Mac app, and it needs your bank links.
Best for: Bank-linked tracking in a real Mac app
Copilot Money tracks your accounts and spending automatically, spots subscriptions you forgot, and runs on iPhone, iPad, Mac and the web. Its site lists $95 a year, with a one-month free trial.
Weakness: no Android, no free plan, and it needs your bank links too.

Try it
Rocket Money's best trick is finding charges you forgot. You can do the same by hand in about ten minutes, then keep the list in Koi:
Yearly payments count as a twelfth each month, so a yearly plan doesn't hide in the total. Step by step in the tracker's help.
