What Paste does, and what it costs

Paste keeps everything you copy, with no limit: links, pictures, notes, files, colors and code. Pinboards keep what you reuse and can be shared with a team, and private iCloud sync brings it to iPhone and iPad. Rules skip passwords and apps you pick.

On the Mac App Store it's a free download with plans: $3.99 a month, $29.99 a year, $59.99 for a family or $99.99 for life, with a week to try it. It's also in Setapp. It needs macOS 14 or later.

We make Koi, so read this with that in mind. Every fact about another app comes from its own site or App Store page, checked October 26, 2026.

The best Paste alternatives for Mac in 2026

1. Koi

Best for: Six months of what you copy, in the notch, on your Mac only

Koi's Copy history keeps words, links, pictures and the paths of files you copy in Finder for 6 months, only on your Mac. It never keeps passwords or what apps mark as private, and it's never sent or read by Koi's AI. Open it from the notch's Tools: search it, pin what matters, copy it again.

Where Paste is better, plainly: it keeps everything with no limit, syncs to iPhone and iPad, and opens with a shortcut. Koi's Copy history is on one Mac and opens from the notch. Koi is $20 a month or Lifetime, paid once, with dictation, call recording and an assistant in the same app.

2. Spotlight, built in

Best for: Free, nothing to install, for the last hours or days

On macOS Tahoe, press ⌘Space, then ⌘4, for Spotlight's clipboard history. Apple's help for macOS 27 keeps it 30 minutes, 8 hours or 7 days. Seehow to find something you copied earlier.

3. Maccy

Best for: Free and open source

Keyboard first, ⇧⌘C, local only, skips passwords. Free; the App Store build is $9.99. More in our Maccy alternatives.

4. Pastebot

Best for: Filters and stacks

Text filters, stacks and iCloud sync across Macs. $39 with a year of updates. More in our Pastebot alternatives.
