Moody is a teleprompter for Mac. It shows your script in the notch, right under the camera, or in a floating window you can resize. It follows your voice as you read, and its page says it's invisible during screen sharing and in screenshots. It also records your screen with your camera, so you can film a demo and read from the same app.
It's sold through its Payhip page, the only official page we found: moody.app is a parked domain. On the day we checked it was $39 once, marked as on sale, so the price moves. It needs macOS 15 or later.
We make Koi, so read this with that in mind. Koi is first below because it's ours. Every fact about another app comes from that app's own page or App Store listing, checked October 25, 2026, and anything we couldn't confirm is left out.
The picks
Best for: A notch teleprompter inside an app you'd use all day anyway
Koi is a Mac app that lives in the notch, and Koi 2.0 has a teleprompter in the notch's Tools. Paste or type a script (the last one is kept), pick how it's paced, and press Start. The notch grows down into a black panel right under the camera, the line you're on brightest. On a Mac without a notch, Koi draws a small one of its own.
It follows your voice, heard on the Mac by Koi's speech model: speed up, slow down, stop to think, and it waits. Nothing heard is kept, and neither your voice nor the script is sent. Or pick a steady speed from 60 to 260 words a minute. Space pauses, the arrows or your trackpad go back and on, Esc ends it, and mirror flips it for a teleprompter glass. While it's on, the notch is hidden from screen capture, so apps like Zoom, Meet and Teams leave it out of what they share or record.
Where Moody does better: Koi doesn't record your screen and camera itself, has no floating window you can resize, and isn't a one-time purchase. Koi is $20 a month, $7 for a first week, or Lifetime, paid once, with no free trial, and the teleprompter comes with dictation, call recording and an assistant.
Best for: Paying once, on the Mac App Store
Notchie shows your script in the notch area near the camera, and its listing says it works on Macs without a notch too. It scrolls when you speak and pauses when you pause, and says it's hidden from screen sharing in supported apps. $29.99 once, no in-app purchases, macOS 14.6 or later.
Best for: Trying a notch teleprompter for free
CueNotch reads in the notch, or floats under the camera on a Mac without one. It follows your voice, and its Ghost Mode hides it from screen sharing and recording. The free version gives three starts a day and scripts up to 100 words. Pro is $29.99 for life or $7.99 a week, with a 3-day trial. macOS 14 or later.
Best for: Free and open source, with an iPhone remote
Textream is free and open source (MIT). It pins your script to the notch, floats it in a window or fills the screen, and its Word Tracking follows your voice through macOS's speech recognition; its README notes Apple may process that audio. It has iPhone and iPad apps and a browser remote. macOS 15 or later.
Best for: Windows as well as Mac, and teams
Speakflow runs in the browser, with a desktop app too. Its Flow mode follows your voice, and its Overlay floats over Zoom, Meet and Teams. There's a free plan with limited Flow; Plus is $15 a month and Studio $99 a month, both billed yearly. Its pages don't say it hides from screen sharing.
Best for: A classic floating teleprompter window
A Mac app with a floating, see-through window, free to download with in-app purchases from $3.99 up to a $159.99 upgrade, for macOS 12 or later. Its listing doesn't mention following your voice or hiding from screen sharing.

Koi's teleprompter rolls your script in the MacBook notch, right under the camera. It follows your voice on your Mac and is left out of screen shares in apps like Zoom, Meet and Teams.
Zoom has no teleprompter. Read a script under your Mac's camera on Zoom, Meet or Teams, hidden from screen share, with Koi's notch teleprompter or Keynote.
Read a script and still look at your MacBook's camera: put the words right under the lens, with a narrow window, short lines, or a notch teleprompter like Koi.
