See an app's windows from the Dock
Rest the pointer on an app in the macOS Dock and Koi shows its windows above it, minimized ones too. Click one to bring it forward. Pictured on your Mac only.
HyperDock's site lists macOS only up to Mojave. For Dock previews on a newer Mac, DockDoor is the closest and free. Koi shows them too, inside a bigger app, and AltTab switches windows from the keyboard.

HyperDock was one of the first apps to add window previews to the Mac's Dock. Hover an app and each of its windows shows, minimized ones and other Spaces too, and you can drag and drop onto them. It also shows music controls over the music app and upcoming events over Calendar, moves and resizes windows with keys and the mouse, and snaps them to the screen edges.
A licence is $9.95 from its site, and it's also on the Mac App Store with “a slightly reduced feature set”. Its download page offers HyperDock 1.8 and lists Mojave, High Sierra and Sierra. It says nothing about newer macOS or Apple Silicon, which is why many people look for an alternative.
We make Koi, so read this with that in mind. Every fact about another app comes from that app's own site, checked October 26, 2026.
The picks
Best for: The closest thing to HyperDock today, free
DockDoor shows an app's windows when you point at its Dock icon, from every Space and display, and lets you close, minimize or quit from the preview. It adds an Option-Tab switcher, gestures that snap windows, and music controls with lyrics. It's free and open source, needs macOS 13 or later, and is updated often. More in our DockDoor alternatives.
Best for: Simple Dock previews, inside an app that does much more
Rest the pointer on an app in the Dock and Koi shows its windows on this desktop, minimized ones too, each with its title and a small live picture. Click one to bring it forward, or × to close it. It runs on macOS 14 and later, Apple Silicon and Intel.
Where HyperDock does more: Koi has no music or calendar panels on the Dock, no window moving or snapping, and no previews from other Spaces. Koi's previews are one small part of Koi, which is $20 a month or Lifetime, paid once, with dictation, call recording and an assistant in your notch.
Best for: Switching windows from the keyboard
AltTab has no Dock previews, but its switcher shows every window, with a big preview of the one you pick. Free and open source, Pro $9.99 once, macOS 12 or later.
Best for: Free, with nothing to install
Control-click an app in the Dock and choose Show All Windows, or press Control and the down arrow. It fills the screen with that app's windows.
